BCAC News:
It's that time of year again for the Baldwin Community Arts Council Chocolate Auction. Now in its 22nd year the auction has become a Baldwin City tradition that is enjoyed by young and old alike. It has become so special that last year the Council expanded it to two days by adding a Valentine's Dinner and Dance on Saturday. The dance was a big hit last year that it is back again as the "Valentines Gala". It has transformed from a dinner and dance to a complete night out. Guys, now you can give your sweetheart that special evening with one stop shopping. At this event you can have a night of fine dining, dancing, red roses, fine chocolates and a special couple's portrait all at once.

Come to the downtown area (8th & High) and enjoy four special evenings of art, music, and other special features. During each of the Art Walks, there are two $50 gifts awarded. The Patron's Award is drawn from tickets submitted by those in attendance. The winner can buy $50 worth of art from the participating artists. The second gift is the People's Choice Award, given to the artist identified as an evening favorite. First in the Art Walk line-up on June 19th, BCAC artists will share a weekend kick-off of Planes, Trains, & Automobiles, sponsored by the Baldwin City Chamber of Commerce. There will be a free, family outdoor movie at 9:00 just east of the Lumberyard Arts Center. Looking for volunteers! The Arts Council is looking for volunteers to assist with the Art Walks, bake sales, Holiday Art Sale, Chocolate Auction, continuing art education through the recreation office or schools, and we are always open to participating artists in our various programs.
